Bitless Inc Annual Online Show Reserve Grand Champion

Reserve Grand Champion: Pam Pike & Dean Judge Sue Lewis says "This is an excellent example of what can be achieved when horse and rider share a connection and work togther as a team, without gadgets or gear, just you and your horse".
Guest Judge's Choice Awards Our Guest Judges have chosen one entry each from the whole competition.

Guest Judge's Choice: Emily Briggs & Mandagus (from Class 19) Judge Leslie Nichols says "Such beautiful harmony between horse & rider! The horse is moving freely & happily, enabled by the obvious relaxation of both horse & rider. This video demonstrates perfectly that not only can a polished performance be achieved bitless, in fact, its clear that the removal of the bit is what's allowing all of the wonderful moments in this inspiring ride".
Guest Judge's Choice: Suzanne Bellette & Tombay (Fom Class 3) Judge Robert Cook says "This image wonderfully captures the harmony that is possible between horse and human; the voluntary interaction between prey and predator. The composition is well balanced and the back lighting most effective. The picture sends a simple, direct and delightful message to the viewer even though, as Sir Thomas Browne wrote in the 17th century, “it be but of an horse.” I can look a whole day with delight upon a handsome Picture, though it be but of an Horse. It is my temper, and I like it the better, to affect all harmony: and sure there is musick even in the beauty, and the silent note which Cupid strikes, far sweeter than the sound of an instrument. For there is a musick where ever there is a harmony, order, or proportion: and thus far we may maintain the music of the Sphears; for those well-ordered motions, and regular paces, though they give no sound unto the ear, yet to the understanding they strike a note most full of harmony."
Guest Judge's Choice: Tanya French & Barnsey (From Class 10) Judge Mark Smith says "Coming from a competitive background, I am convinced that if we want to be taken seriously, we don't just have to be as good as the bitted riders... we need to better and BEAT them! The technique shown by this hrse would be admire by any proper event trainer ... his back leg technique... the use of his head and neck... the confidence the partnership have in each other ... ALL WITHOUT A HUNK OF METAL IN HIS MOUTH!!"
Best Junior Award
Best Junior Award: Mariah & Tinkerbelle Judge Cynthia Cooper says "Nice to see a happy & confident young rider".

Sporting Reserve Champion: Leah Sharp & Breo Judge Sue Lewis says "Again the horse looks relaxed, yet focused on the job at hand and still seems to be enjoying himself. It is also a realm I don't think Bitless has broken across to as yet, so therefore it is just great to see her out and about giving it all a go and not compromising her horse to do so."
- Dressage
1st Place: Tanya French & Luke Judge Georgia Bruce says "This picture shows a beautiful harmonious partnership between horse & rider. The horse shows excellent balance & self carriage. Good activity & engagement of the hindquarters & looks to be very loose and soft throughout it's whole body from the tail right through to the ears. The rider has a good position with an independant seat. Lovely picture, congratulations".
2nd Place: Erin Romanin & Salsa Judge Georgia Bruce says "This horse is also working with very good balance and impulsion. It could show a little more looseness & relaxation. Really nice combination, very well done".
3rd Place: Deb Shearim & Tobe Judge Georgia Bruce says "Good to see horse uphill with poll the highest point & nose slightly in front of the vertical. Lovely harmony in this picture. Could show more looseness over the back".
4th Place: Janet Hurt & Bella Park Rose Judge Georgia Bruce says "Good Impulsion, horse really tracking up. Rider could sit up a little more to help encourage the horse to lighten the forehand & bring the weight more over the hindquarters".
